David Hanson의 첫 번째 앨범 ‘This Is David Hanson’은, David Hanson만이 가지고 있는 유니크한 보이스와 섬세한 감성, 그리고 다채로운 음악적 스타일이 어우러진, 말 그대로 David Hanson이 누구인지를 알려주는 앨범이다.
앨범에 수록된 모든 곡은 David Hanson이 프로듀서 GEUNEU와 함께 직접 작사하고 작곡하였으며, 약 2년 동안 작업하였다. 장르적으로 댄스, 발라드, 가스펠, R&B, EDM 등 폭넓게 아우르고 있어, David Hanson의 한계가 없는 음악적 역량을 느낄 수 있다. 모든 가사는 영어로 쓰였다.

All the songs and lyrics on the album were co-written and composed by David Hanson and producer GEUNEU for approximately two years. The tracks span various genres, ranging from dance to ballad, gospel, R&B, and EDM, demonstrating the boundless scope of David Hanson’s musical versatility. Additionally, all lyrics were crafted in English.

Track 1. Fly

강렬하고 청량한 초고음역대의 휘슬 보이스로 시작하는 댄스곡이다. 햇살이 따사롭게 내리쬐는 어느 여름날, 오랫동안 그리워해 온 이를 만나러 가는 설렘을 노래한다. 이 곡은 2020년 11월부터 작업을 시작하였다. 세상의 모든 이들이 예전처럼 자유롭게 모여, 함께 노래하고 즐길 수 있는 날이 하루빨리 오기를 바라며.

“Fly” is a dance song that kicks off with a powerful and refreshing high-pitched whistle note. This song is about the feeling of excitement and anticipation that one experiences when they are on their way to reunite with a long-missed loved one on a warm, sunny day. This song started to be written in November 2020 with the hope that it will bring joy and a sense of unity to people around the world, bringing people together to sing and have fun like they did before the pandemic.

Track 2. When The Love Falls

“저 멀리서 산들바람이 불어온다. 나는 느낄 수 있다. 나는 들을 수 있다. 당신이 오고 있다는 것을. 그리고 사랑이 쏟아지고 있는 것을”

David Hanson 특유의 섬세하고도 풍성한 음색으로 이루어진 가스펠 풍의 R&B 발라드곡이다. 푸른 하늘 아래 선명하게 펼쳐진 녹음, 그리고 살랑 불어오는 바람, 그 싱그러운 풍경 속에서 가슴 가득 차오르는 사랑의 감정을 노래한다.

“The wind is blowing from faraway mountains. I can feel it. I can hear it. You are coming. And love is pouring out.”

“When the Love Falls” is a soulful R&B ballad track with a touch of gospel, which highlights David Hanson’s versatility as a musician. It captures the feeling of overflowing love against the backdrop of blue skies, lush scenery, and a gentle breeze.

Track 3. Love Alone

“나도 내가 왜 이러는지 모르겠어. 하루는 너를 열렬히 사랑하지만, 또 하루는 네가 너무 미워”

통통 튀는 매력을 가진 미드템포의 R&B 발라드곡이다. 선선한 늦여름의 어느 밤, 홀로 창가에 앉아 짝사랑하는 이를 생각하며 혼란스러워하는 마음을 담아내었다.

“I don’t understand why I keep doing this. I love you deeply one day, and hate you the next.”

“Love Alone” is a mid-tempo R&B ballad with a catchy charm. The song depicts the confusion and turmoil experienced while sitting alone by the window on a warm late summer night, caught in the grip of unrequited love.

Track 4. You Come Runnin’

“이것은 우리의 작은 일탈이지. 절대 잊지 못할 순간을 만들어 줄게”

EDM 풍의 댄스곡이다. 상처받고 지친 일상을 벗어던지고, 사랑하는 이와 자유롭게 온종일 달리고 싶은 마음을 노래한다.

“This is our little getaway. This is the moment we will never forget.”

“You Come Runnin’” is an upbeat EDM track that conveys the feeling of wanting to escape from the mundane life and run away with a lover.

Track 5. Break of Day

차분한 발라드곡이다. 여름이 지나고 가을로 접어들면, 어느새 마음 한구석에는 외로움과 쓸쓸함이 자리 잡는다. 그렇게 우리의 삶에는 지치고 울고 싶을 때가, 품었던 희망을 포기하고 싶을 때가 찾아온다. 이 노래는 그러한 마음을 어루만지며 위로한다.

“Break of Day” is a mellow ballad to listen to at the end of a long, lonely autumn day. It’s a song for when you’re feeling hopeless and stuck. The soothing melody is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a new day.
