It sure is a “Mad World” we’re living in, explored by Tears for Fears back in 1982 with one of their breakout hits. More than 40 years later, it gets a refresh à la chill house of the finest order. Braaten, a Norwegian producer with over a million monthly listeners, found fame through his bountiful campaign of covers, notably including “Chasing Cars” that boasts over 30 million streams. The instrumental is written in usual Braaten chill house fashion: gorgeous melodies coupled with soothing drums to capture the hearts of many. But then, U.S.-based singer JANU takes on Tears for Fears’ vox and twists it to seamlessly fit the evocative style of Braaten’s instrumental!
