βhypochondriacβ is about my own personal experiences with anti-depressants and overthinking. The song was born out of my attempt to quit my medication, which led to negative withdrawal symptoms and an identity crisis. I began questioning whether I could ever fully come off the medication and feel βhappyβ or if I had to keep relying on something that become my crutch. The song is not only for those who may be struggling with the same experiences, but also for those who might be depending on something/someone for a source of happiness.
