MADDYXP (매디엑스피) [grapefruit]

사실 누구보다 잘되고 싶고, 과거의 기억들에 대해 시끄럽게 복수하고 싶고, 결국은 모두가 나를 선망하길 바라는 마음으로 시작했던 음악이라는 일. 하지만 어느 순간엔 그 이유도 흐려지고, 목표와 끝이 어딘지도 모른 채 달려가는 스스로에 대해 느낀 허망함이 이 곡 곳곳에 남아 있을거라고 생각합니다.

아무튼 우리, 아름답게 썩어봅시다.
형체가 남지 않을 만큼 흐물흐물해지더라도.

I began music wanting more than anyone to succeed, to scream my revenge toward the memories that haunted me, to eventually become someone others would admire. But at some point, the reasons blurred; I couldn’t see the goal anymore, nor the endpoint.

That sense of futility —running without knowing why— lingers throughout this song.

So, for now, let’s decay in a beautiful way.
Even if we turn soft and shapeless, leaving nothing behind.
