영화 <바비> 속 Ken처럼, 인정받고 싶은 마음과 미묘한 열등감이 뒤섞일 때 우리 삶은 예상치 못한 방향으로 흘러가곤 한다. 이 노래의 주인공 Ken은 백인들 사이에서 조금은 다르고, 그렇다고 완전히 다르지 않은 혼혈 소년으로 자라왔다.
Ken은 어디에도 온전히 속하지 못한다는 소외감과 세상이 자신을 오해한다는 피해의식 속에 살지만, 동시에 자신이 꽤 많은 특권을 누리고 있다는 것도 알고 있다. 세상으로부터 받은 상처를 끝내 소화하지 못한 Ken은 때로 철없고 냉소적인 모습으로 자신을 방어한다. 이 곡은 그런 결핍투성이인 소년의 솔직한 고백이자, 그럼에도 불구하고 더 나은 사람이 되고 싶다는 희미한 의지의 기록이다.

Biracial Ken is a fun, light-hearted yet somewhat satirical song that tells the story of a young boy (Ken) and his relationship to the world.
The song evokes the stigmas that may come with being a biracial body in a pre-dominantly white environment while underlining the many privileges a biracial man still has over more stigmatized peoples.
Biracial Ken is a young boy that had once felt wronged by the world, never quite got over it, and turned into a somewhat ungrateful and whiney person.
He doesn't seem dangerous but much like Ryan Gosling's Ken in the movie Barbie, his bitterness has quite the potential to become a danger.
This is biracial Ken's confession, which signifies his desire to do better; hopefully.
