『떴다 저 가마귀 Here Comes That Crow』는 서울을 기반으로 활동하는 7인조 밴드 이날치가 뉴욕의 아이코닉한 레이블 Luaka Bop을 통해 선보이는 EP이다. 이날치는 판소리를 뿌리로 한 네 명의 보컬, 두 명의 베이시스트, 드럼과 키보드로 구성된 독특한 편성을 바탕으로, 전통 서사와 현대적인 사이키 팝/댄스 록 사운드를 결합해왔다.
이번 EP에는 “히히하하 Hihi Haha”, “새타령 Bird”, “떴다 저 까마귀 Here Comes That Crow”, “Let’s Live for Today”, “봐봐요 봐봐요 Look At Me Look At Me”, “약성가 Ultimate Prescription”까지 총 6곡이 수록된다. 이 중 “새타령 Bird”와 “Let’s Live for Today”는 기존에 소개된 바 있는 곡을 현재의 멤버들과 함께 새롭게 녹음한 버전이며, 이날치의 현재적 에너지와 사운드를 더욱 선명하게 담아냈다.
이날치의 음악은 판소리의 장단, 발성, 서사적 구조에서 출발하지만, 그 결과물은 전통 음악의 재현에 머물지 않는다. 반복적인 베이스 리프와 밀도 높은 리듬, 강렬한 보컬 앙상블, 그리고 유머와 생동감이 넘치는 가사는 이날치만의 독보적인 음악 세계를 만든다. 『떴다 저 가마귀 Here Comes That Crow』는 이러한 이날치의 정체성을 집약적으로 보여주는 작품으로, 한국적 이야기와 소리를 글로벌한 감각의 밴드 음악으로 확장한다.

『Here Comes That Crow』 is a new EP by Leenalchi, the seven-piece Seoul-based band, released via the iconic New York label Luaka Bop. Built around a distinctive lineup of four pansori-rooted vocalists, two bassists, drums, and keys, Leenalchi has developed a sound that brings together traditional Korean storytelling with contemporary psych-pop and dance-rock energy.
The EP features six tracks: “Hihi Haha,” “Bird,” “Here Comes That Crow,” “Let’s Live for Today,” “Look At Me Look At Me,” and “Ultimate Prescription.” Among them, “Bird” and “Let’s Live for Today” are newly re-recorded versions of songs that had previously been introduced, now capturing the present energy and sound of Leenalchi’s current lineup with greater clarity.
Leenalchi’s music begins with the rhythms, vocal techniques, and narrative structures of pansori, but it does not remain within the realm of traditional music reproduction. Repetitive bass riffs, dense rhythms, powerful vocal ensembles, and lyrics full of humor and vitality come together to create Leenalchi’s unmistakable musical world. 『Here Comes That Crow』 is a concentrated expression of that identity, expanding Korean stories and sounds into band music with a global sensibility.
