In the process of deforestation, trees are uprooted and stripped away from their foundation — the very roots that provide them with strength and life. These roots, often stretching more than three meters into the ground, symbolize both resilience and connection. The title Roots of Silence reflects this reality: just as roots spread widely beneath the soil, the consequences of destroying forests extend far beyond what we see, silencing not only the trees but also the ecosystems and lives they sustain.

〈Roots of Silence〉는 산림 파괴 위기에 대한 음악적 성찰입니다. 이 작품은 살아있는 숲이 지닌 아름다움과, 그 파괴 뒤에 찾아오는 섬뜩한 고요함을 동시에 담아냅니다. 겹겹이 쌓인 멜로디와 변화하는 음색은 생태계를 지키려는 끊임없는 노력과, 여전히 숲을 위협하는 전 세계적인 자원과 수요 사이의 긴장을 그려냅니다. 수많은 인식 캠페인과 보존 프로젝트에도 불구하고, 산림 파괴는 여전히 해결하기 어려운 환경 문제로 남아 있으며, 이는 우리가 목재, 종이, 토지에 집단적으로 의존하는 데 그 뿌리를 두고 있습니다.

이에 저는 작은 도전을 제안합니다. 종이컵 대신 개인 컵을 사용하세요. 작은 선택이 숲을 지켜냅 니다. 매주 단 5분이라도 이 곡을 들으며, 파괴되어가는 자연 서식지를 떠올려 보시길 바랍니다. 우리의 사소한 행동 하나하나가 모여 지구의 미래를 바꿀 수 있습니다.

“I was inspired to compose this composition because of the great effect nature has had on me. Recently, global warming has been a very serious issue with multiple organizations trying to somehow resolve this problem, still, it is a major problem that concerns many people around the world. Although there isn't much, I could do to solve this problem, I made this composition in order to raise at least a bit of awareness on this matter.”
“저는 자연이 우리에게 미치는 영향들에 영감을 받아 작품들을 작곡하였습니다. 최근 지구
온난화가 심각해지면서 많은 기관에서 환경 문제를 해결하기 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 아직도
여전히 심각한 문제 이지만, 특별하게 큰 해결점이 바로 나타나지 않아 안타까운 마음이
들었습니다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 내가 할 수 있는 일이 많지 않지만 저의 음악으로 조금 더
많은 사람들에게 지구온난화, 환경오염의 심각성을 전달하고 싶어서 건강한 사계절의 자연을 모티브로
이음악을 작곡하였습니다."
