Kailash Band의 이번 음반은 찰리정의 개인 스튜디오에서이루어진 라이브 합주를 기록한 사운드 수행이다. 편집을 최소화한 즉흥 연주 속에서 멤버들의 호흡과 긴장, 사운드의 흐름이 그대로 기록됐다. 호흡처럼이어지는 즉흥과 반복 속에서 사운드는 점점 명상의 상태로 깊어간다.

Charlie Jung Kailash Band는 한국 재즈씬을 꾸준히 이끌어온 기타리스트 찰리정을 중심으로 모인 연주자들의 집약체다. 관록의 드러머 이도헌, 제이슨 팍과 오원석의 불꽃 같은 에너지가 하나의거대한 흐름을 만든다. 여기에 급부상 중인 프리재즈 기타리스트 중원과 브라질 음악을 섭렵한 퍼커셔니스트 송세빈이 합류해 현재 가장 살아 있는 사운드를만들어낸다.

This album by Kailash Band is a sonicpractice,

a document of live ensemble sessionsrecorded in Charlie Jung’s personal studio.

With editing kept to a minimum, the rawbreath, tension,

and natural flow of sound between themembers are captured as they are.

Through improvisation and repetition thatmove like breathing itself,

the sound gradually deepens into ameditative state.

Charlie Jung Kailash Band is a collectiveof musicians

gathered around guitarist Charlie Jung,

who has long led the Korean jazz scenewith quiet consistency.

Veteran drummers Lee Do-heon, Jason Park,and Oh Won-seok

ignite a blazing energy that convergesinto one vast current.

Joining them are the rapidly rising freejazz guitarist Joong-won

and percussionist Song Sebeen, deeplyversed in Brazilian music,

together shaping one of the most vividlyalive sounds of the present moment.
