2026년 국립국악원 국악동요 선집 제37집 (제40회 창작국악동요 작품 공모전 수상작 모음집)

[Prologue]
국악동요는 단순히 우리말로 부르는 노래가 아닙니다.
수백 년을 이어온 우리 음악의 고유한 가락과 장단이 아이들의 노래 속에 살아 숨 쉬는 살아있는 전통입니다. 5음계를 바탕으로 한 우리 선율과 장단은 서양 음악과 구별되는 우리 음악 고유의 시김새를 담고 있습니다.

국립국악원은 이 고유한 음악적 뿌리를 지키고 이어가기 위해 1987년부터 국악동요의 창작과 보급에 힘써왔습니다. 「창작국악동요 작품 공모전」을 통해 우리 가락을 담은 새로운 동요를 꾸준히 발굴하고, 「국악동요 부르기 한마당」과 「국악동요 선집」 음반 제작으로 그 노래들이 아이들 곁에 다가갈 수 있도록 이어왔습니다. 그 결실로 지금까지 총 548여 곡의 국악동요가 세상에 나왔고, 37장의 선집 음반이 제작되었습니다.

자진모리의 경쾌한 흥, 굿거리의 넉넉한 흔들림, 세마치의 생동감이 아이들의 입과 몸을 통해 자연스럽게 전해질 때, 장단은 단순한 박자를 넘어 우리 몸에 익숙한 리듬으로 자리잡게 됩니다. 발굴된 곡 중 23곡이 초등학교 음악 교과서에 수록된 것은, 국악동요가 교육 현장에서 우리 음악의 고유성을 전하는 통로로 인정받았다는 증거입니다.

음을 떨고 밀어올리고 흘리는 표현 하나에도 국악의 정서가 담기고, 장단 한 박 안에도 흥과 멋이 공존합니다. 국악동요는 그 음악적 유산을 아이들의 목소리로 다음 세대에 전달하는 역할을 합니다.
국립국악원은 앞으로도 우리 음악의 고유한 가락과 장단이 아이들의 노래 속에서 살아 전해질 수 있도록, 창작과 보급의 길을 변함없이 이어가겠습니다.

It is an honor to speak about the profound beauty of Gugak children's songs, or Gugak-dongyo. These are not merely songs sung in the Korean language; they are a living legacy, where the unique melodies and rhythms of a centuries-old musical heritage breathe through the voices of our children.

Rooted in the traditional pentatonic scale, these melodies possess a distinct character—the sigimsae—that sets them apart from Western musical structures. It is a soulful expression of the Korean spirit.

Since 1987, the National Gugak Center has been steadfast in its mission to preserve and cultivate this musical root. Through the "Creative Gugak Children's Song Contest," we have consistently discovered new works that honor our traditional scales. Furthermore, through initiatives like the "Gugak Children's Song Festival" and the production of "Gugak Children's Song Compilations," we have ensured these songs resonate in the daily lives of our youth. To date, this dedication has brought forth 548 original songs and 37 compilation albums.

When the cheerful energy of Jajinmori, the graceful sway of Gutgeori, and the vibrant spirit of Semachi are expressed through a child's voice and movement, these rhythms become more than just a beat—they become a natural, physical instinct. The fact that 23 of these discovered songs are now included in elementary school music textbooks is a testament to the vital role Gugak-dongyo plays in conveying our cultural identity within the classroom.

Every vibrato, every upward glissando, and every subtle drop of a note carries the emotional depth of Gugak. Even within a single rhythmic cycle, exuberance and ease coexist beautifully. Gugak-dongyo serves to carry this musical inheritance into the hearts of the next generation. The National Gugak Center remains deeply committed to this path of creation and education, ensuring that our unique melodies and rhythms continue to live on in the songs of our children.

01 팔도 선율 여행 Melodic Journey Across Korea
남도 지역의 육자배기 토리, 서도 지역의 수심가 토리, 동부 지역의 메나리 토리, 그리고 서울·경기 경토리 등 전국 각 지방의 다양한 토리를 가사에 활용한 교육적으로 훌륭한 곡이다.
굿거리 장단과 자진모리 장단을 함께 사용하여 다양한 분위기를 느낄 수 있는 개성 있는 곡이다.

This is a brilliant educational piece that introduces children to the diverse regional musical styles, or tori, of Korea.
The lyrics cleverly incorporate the unique traditional sounds from the southern, western, eastern, and central regions. By weaving together the Gutgeori and Jajinmori rhythms, the song offers a distinctive and multi-layered musical experience.

02 호이호이 숨비소리 Hoi-hoi Sumbi-sori
제주도 해녀 문화에서 나타나는 특징적인 소리 '숨비소리'를 소재로 한 곡이다.
숨을 내쉬며 내뱉는 휘파람 같은 '호이 호이' 소리를 후렴구 가사로 사용하여 흥미롭고 재미있게 구성하였다. 신나는 자진모리 장단으로 이루어져 누구나 쉽게 따라 부를 수 있는 곡이다.

Inspired by the Haenyeo culture of Jeju Island, this song focuses on the sumbi-sori, the unique whistling sound of the divers.
The chorus features the rhythmic and playful "Hoi-hoi" sound, making the piece incredibly engaging for young singers. Set to the upbeat Jajinmori rhythm, it is an accessible and joyful tune that anyone can easily sing along to.

03 하나 둘 셋, 김치 One Two Three, Kimchi

배추김치, 깍두기, 동치미, 갓김치, 백김치 등 다양한 김치를 소재로 하여 김치를 담그는 과정을 재미있게 표현한 곡이다.
자진모리 장단의 밝고 명랑한 분위기로, 온 가족이 둘러앉아 김치를 담그고 맛있게 나누어 먹는 모습을 떠올리게 하는 곡이다.

This charming song celebrates Korea’s diverse culinary soul, depicting the fun process of making various types of kimchi.

매일 먹는 하얀 밥이 어디서 왔을까 하는 궁금증에서 시작된 곡이다. 논에 물을 대고 영차영차 모내기를 하는 모습을 재미있게 표현하였다.
굿거리 장단과 자진모리 장단을 번갈아 활용하여 선율과 장단 구성을 흥미롭게 만들어 누구나 힘차게 따라 부를 수 있는 곡이다.

Born from a child’s curiosity about their daily bowl of rice, this song vividly portrays the hardworking scenes of the paddies. It playfully describes the process of flooding the fields and the rhythmic, collective effort of planting the rice.
The dynamic interplay between the Gutgeori and Jajinmori creates an energetic structure that invites everyone to join in.

05 둥당기 친구 Doongdang-gi Friends
'둥당', '당기' 등 가야금 소리를 흉내 내는 말을 가사에 재미있게 사용하였다.
단짝 친구와 즐겁게 놀며 노래 부르는 모습이 상상되는 곡으로, 자진모리 장단을 사용해 신나는 분위기를 잘 담아낸 곡이다.

호랑이 등줄기에 해당하는 태백산맥을 웅장하게 노래하였으며, 자진모리 장단을 사용해 경쾌하면서도 힘찬 분위기를 잘 살렸다. 대피리의 저음역을 풍성하게 활용하여 곡의 묵직한 느낌을 한층 더 강조한 곡이다.
